Print | PDFUniversity of Waterloo Associate Professor Rebbecca Rooney spoke at Laurier this week in a special talk sponsored by the Laurier Institute for Water Science as part of the Biology Seminar Series hosted by the Department of Biology.
Rooney’s research focus is wetland ecology, with her talk centering on her recent work on the invasive species Phragmites australis and how best to manage its spread. She also spoke about her team’s work on stormwater management ponds, where they have been working to identify and characterize contaminants to inform future monitoring efforts.
Following the talk, attendees were invited to Veritas, a cafe on campus, to continue the discussion, enjoy a snack, and socialize with others interested in water science.
